This workshop is designed to help STEM professors transform their classroom discussions into dynamic, thought-provoking exchanges, particularly in English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) contexts where language barriers can hinder engagement. We’ll explore advanced techniques to move beyond surface-level interactions, fostering deeper intellectual engagement with scientific concepts while supporting students’ English proficiency. You’ll reflect on your current teaching practices and identify practical strategies to create a more inclusive and stimulating learning environment. Through hands-on activities and collaborative exercises, you’ll leave with actionable tools to immediately enhance student participation and understanding in your classes, even in multilingual or EMI settings.
