This workshop explores how Nearpod can be used to transform traditional lectures into interactive, student-centered learning experiences, with a focus on English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI). We’ll address the unique challenges of teaching in English, such as ensuring clarity and encouraging participation from non-native speakers. Through hands-on activities, we will reimagine a sample lecture (or use your own) by integrating Nearpod’s features to promote active learning, self-assessment, and differentiation. Participants will learn how to use tools like gamified quizzes, collaborative boards, and real-time feedback to engage students and address diverse learning needs, including language support. By the end of the session, you will have a practical framework for designing Nearpod-enhanced lessons that align with pedagogical best practices and improve student outcomes in EMI contexts.
